The Emergency Dental Scheme (EDS) offers specialized assistance for urgent dental needs, like a broken tooth. Eligible adult patients with natural teeth can access emergency dental care through EDS at a private dental practice if their local SA Dental clinic cannot provide treatment within 10 days of assessment. Patients should initiate the process by reaching out to their local SA Dental clinic for an assessment of their treatment requirements.
If you are a concession cardholder, you can register and get an Emergency Dental Scheme form from South Australia Dental Community Dental Service Clinic.
Adelaide DentalCare welcomes all patients eligible to engage in the South Australian Dental Services Dental Schemes. If you possess an approved EDS form, it remains valid for 7 days. Kindly inform us if you are seeking emergency care under this scheme.
On your appointment day, bring your EDS form as well as your current Pensioner Concession Card (PCC) or current Health Care Card (HCC).
Adult dependents, those under 19 years of age, listed on the cardholder’s card, are eligible for dental care. However, the partner of a current cardholder cannot access SA Dental care unless they possess their own HCC or PCC, making them a cardholder independently. Holders of Department of Veteran Affairs cards that are not PCCs, such as Gold, White, or Orange Health Cards, are not eligible.
